One comment about Ralph A. Gates Elementary

I am a parent of a first-grader attending Gates Elementary. My child also attended kindergarten there. Gates offers a Spanish immersion program, which is the primary reason it is chartered. We are only one year into the program, but I have been very pleased with my experiences there so far. As can be inferred from the statistics, there is a heavy Spanish-speaking populace at Gates. This does create a social gap between parents who speak one language exclusively, but this gap is mostly met with smiles and good-naturedness, and bilingual parents are usually happy to help us monolinguals communicate.
